Rules and Regulations

Team Composition and Format

  • Total Teams : 50 teams will participate.
  • League Structure : Teams will be divided into groups of 5.
  • Qualification : The top two teams from each group will progress for quarter finals.
  • Quarterfinals : 20 teams will play the quarterfinals in group of five.
  • Matches in Quarterfinals : All quarterfinalists will play 4 matches to qualify for the semifinals.
  • Semifinals : The top 4 teams from the quarterfinal stage will qualify.
  • Finals and Third Place Match : The top 2 teams will compete in the finals, and the remaining 2 semi-finalists will play for 3rd and 4th position.

Player and Team Rules

  • Each team will consist of 9 players, with 8 playing and 1 as a substitute.
  • In case of a tie, a Super Over will determine the winner.
  • Umpire decisions are final, and no arguments will be entertained.

No Ball Rules :

  • A free hit will be awarded to the batting team.
  • Only run-outs are allowed on no balls and free hits.
  • Byes and leg byes are allowed; however, LBW dismissals will not be considered.
  • The bowler must declare their bowling side before starting the over. Failure to do so will result in a no-ball.
  • Bowling speed must not exceed 65 km/h. Exceeding this limit will result in a no-ball.
  • A "Super Over" will be implemented in the first three overs, allowing only 2 players behind the centre line. For the remaining overs, 3 players are allowed behind the centre line (minimum 1 player).
  • A bowler touching the front line of the bowling box will be penalized with a no-ball.
  • At least one leg of the bowler must remain inside the box while delivering the ball.
  • A new ball will be provided for each match.
  • Match durations:
  • League matches: 6 overs
  • Quarterfinals and semifinals: 7 overs.
  • Finals: 8 overs.
  • Every bowler must bowl exactly 1 over.

Match Conduct Rules

  • Teams must report 30 minutes before their scheduled match.
  • Opening batsmen cannot repeat in league matches and quarterfinals.
  • Substitute players in league and quarterfinal matches must be different.
  • Opening batsmen cannot bowl during the first two overs.
  • Teams with female players will receive an additional 10 runs in all matches.
  • Consumption of alcohol or drugs will result in immediate player suspension.
  • Teams must play with players selected during the auction.
  • Every player must participate in at least three league matches and one match in subsequent rounds.
  • In case an auctioned player is unavailable, a substitute fielder may be used but not for batting or bowling.
  • A ball going out of the net will be declared a dead ball, except on the boundary side.
  • A ball hitting the corner pillar of the boundary net will be awarded 4 runs.
  • If a ball hits the top net and is caught, the batsman is out. If the ball hits the side net before being caught, the batsman remains not out.
  • If a batsman is caught and the fielder touches the net, the batsman will be awarded 6 runs.
  • Match timings set by the organizers are final, with no changes allowed.
  • Players may wear gloves during matches.
  • Injured batsmen needing a runner require approval from both team captains, with the runner selected from the batting team's players.
  • Only wooden bats are permitted.
  • Teams will use the same ball for both innings of a match.
  • The management reserves the right to modify rules under unusual circumstances.

Auction Rules

  • Each team owner, one assistant, and one icon player are allowed at the auction table.
  • Players, other than owners and icons, are not allowed to attend the auction.
  • Unsold players will be re-auctioned after the first round.
  • Teams will have a budget of 20,000 points to auction 8 players, including the icon player.
  • Team owners who are not players will receive one player through a lottery system.
  • Each team may have only one icon player.
  • The management will release the list of icon players and other players 48 hours before the auction.
  • Objections to icon player selection will be allowed before the auction.
  • The base price of players will be disclosed at the auction.
  • Auction bids will increase by 300 points per increment.
